After almost 2 months of neck pain and left arm pain and numbness, Dusty Vander Meer had several imaging studies and a consult with a neurosurgeon. The diagnosis is degenerative disc disease in the lower neck, bone spurs and a disc that is herniated and pushing on the nerve root. This Wednesday Dusty will be having an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion of C5-7 at Metro Hospital. A one night stay is anticipated and then close to a 3-month recovery, 2 of those months off work and in a cervical collar. Dusty and Lisa ask for our prayers for a routine fix, for no complications, for steady hands of the surgeons on Wednesday and for a smooth recovery in the coming months. Thank you for praying!
