“My perfect woman? She’s beautiful, obviously. Even without makeup, curled hair, and a fancy dress, she’s beautiful. For all I care, she can wear guy clothes and still look adorable. Her smile would probably brighten even my worst day. She’s not just beautiful aesthetically. She’s compassionate. She’s faithful. She’s generous. She’s kind. She’s spontaneous. She’s strong-willed. It goes on. People love her…but not as much as I do. We have so much in common, from personality to interests…We never been to our respective countries, but that can change once we go together. In fact, we can try new things together. She loves to draw as much as I do. In fact, we probably can have a career together. We can spend all day just enjoying a movie, a game, or even just reading a book in bed. We can sketch all day, and make things together. We’ll even have those super geeky moments where we talk about how awesome the next Mario RPG is going to be, get exhausted at the next Pokemon generation, hype up the next iteration of Zelda, and how terrible the Megaman franchise has become.
We have so much in common yet we’re different. She’s more outgoing than I am. Yet she accepted me as the one. She’s more hard working than my occasional lazy butt. She’s more well-spoken than me. But that’s one of the reasons why we love each other. Think of it as an Ellie/Carl Frederickson type of thing. Or maybe a Luigi/Daisy relationship. And we like that our relationship is like that. She’ll introduce me to something I once hated and I can do the same to her. I can teach her the guitar while she teaches me her super amazing secret talent. We can tease each other about our awkwardness…because that’s what we love about each other. She also loves that I’m sensitive and I love that she’s always energetic. She does get annoyed at the fact I’m so infatuated with a band from the 70’s, but to be fair, I find it weird she listens to aggressive music. But that’s just one of the many things we jokingly tease each other about. We don’t need to have a fancy dinner at some overpriced restaurant, when we can do more adventurous things like hiking in forbidden areas, where I trip all over the place while she’s in the lead. We’ll obviously have arguments but rather than holding it against each other after reconciling, we’ll just laugh it off. We both have dark pasts, but we don’t care about any of that. We live for the present and the future, and that’s what truly matters.
This is all under God’s will. She’s out there somewhere. Maybe it’s someone I already know, or someone I’ll meet in the future. God knows what He’s doing. God will lead both of us together. Perhaps I’m foolish for believing in destiny at this age, but I couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks. I like that I’m a Ted Mosby. Most people dislike his character because he’s a hopeless romantic, but is he really that hopeless?
Right now’s not the time. It hurts sometimes, but if I keep up that attitude, I’ll find her someday.
