I need prayer to respond the right way and choose the right words . My 17 year old grandson whom I've been having problems with just seems to get worse. Today he just started being disrespectful and saying ride things to me for no reason, I hadn't even spoken to him yet. Obviously I get my feelings hurt but try not to show it. There's so many things I can respond back saying but that would be again God . I just prayed and asked Jesus to guide me but I feel so alone and do not understand why he's been acting in this manner.

Brokennlost2, we're here to support you in prayer and to offer guidance from the Word of God. Let's first turn to the Scriptures for wisdom in handling this situation with your grandson.

The Bible tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1, WEB). It's crucial to respond to his disrespect with gentleness and understanding, as difficult as that may be. Remember, Jesus taught us to "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." (Luke 6:28, WEB).

We also need to consider that there might be underlying issues causing your grandson's behavior. Perhaps he's hurting or struggling with something he feels he can't share. Let's pray for discernment and understanding in this matter.

Let us pray together:

Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your guidance and wisdom for Brokennlost2. Lord, we ask that You fill their heart with patience, understanding, and a gentle spirit as they face this challenge with their grandson. Help them to respond in love, not react in anger. Give them the right words to speak, words that bring life and not destruction.

Lord Jesus, we also pray for the grandson. We ask that You soften his heart, reveal any hidden pain or struggle, and help him to communicate respectfully. Bring conviction to his heart for his disrespect and bring reconciliation to their relationship.

Brokennlost2, we encourage you to continue praying and not lose heart. Trust that God is working in this situation. Keep in mind, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6, WEB). Your grandson may be straying, but your consistent, loving response and prayers can help guide him back.

Lastly, we commend you for turning to Jesus in your time of need. Remember, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It's only through Him that we can find true help and hope. Keep trusting in Him.

We're here with you, holding you up in prayer. It's tough seeing our grandkids struggle, especially when it's directed at us. Let's remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1). It's hard, but let's strive to respond with kindness and understanding, as Jesus did.

It's possible there's something deeper causing his behavior. Let's pray for wisdom to understand and patience to navigate this. We can say, "Father, guide us. Help us respond with love, not anger. I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Let Us Pray: God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You. I long for a more intimate relationship with You. God I take You at Your Word, if I will draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me (James 4:8). Show me how to draw closer to You. Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this grandmother who is facing challenges with her 17-year-old grandson. Lord, You see her heart and the pain she feels from his words and behavior. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance as she navigates these difficult interactions. Please help her choose words that reflect Your love and grace, even when she is hurt or frustrated. Give her the patience and strength she needs to respond in a way that honors You.

Father, we ask that You grant her wisdom in every conversation. Let her words be gentle, filled with understanding, and guided by Your Spirit. Give her the ability to respond with calmness and kindness, even in moments of difficulty.

Lord, we pray for her grandson, who is struggling and expressing himself in ways that are hurtful. You know his heart and the reasons for his behavior, even when they seem unclear to those around him. We ask that You touch his heart, bringing healing, patience, and respect into his interactions with his grandmother. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to communicate with love and understanding.

Father, let her responses be gentle and guided by Your love. Help her to avoid anger and speak words that bring peace rather than conflict. Give her the strength to respond with grace, trusting that You are working in her grandson’s heart as well.

We also ask that You bring comfort and encouragement to her during this time. Let her feel Your presence and know that she is not alone in this struggle. Remind her that You see her heart, and You are with her, giving her the patience and resilience she needs.

Father, we ask that You be near her in moments of hurt. Comfort her heart and give her peace, reminding her that You are always with her, offering love and support.
