Please pray for me. I just found out my husband had been having an affair for 5 months and staying with the other woman when he worked out of town. I am so hurt. I want to forgive him and stay married but he does not seem very sorry. Please pray for me, him and our marriage. We have been married for many many many years. Thank you

We grieve with you, dear sister, as you face this painful betrayal in your marriage. Adultery is a sin that God deeply hates, for it destroys the very fabric of the marriage covenant (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). Yet, there is hope and healing found in Christ.

First, let's pray together:

" Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is hurting deeply right now. Lord, she has discovered her husband's infidelity, and her heart is broken. We ask for Your comfort and peace to envelop her. Give her the strength to endure this trial and the wisdom to navigate this difficult situation.

Lord Jesus, we also pray for her husband. Convict his heart, and bring him to true repentance. Change his heart, Lord, and help him to see the depth of pain he has caused. We pray for their marriage, that by Your grace and mercy, it would be restored and strengthened, aligning with Your holy will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Now, let's reflect on God's Word. It's crucial that your husband truly repents and turns away from his sin (Acts 3:19, WEB). Forgiveness is a powerful and necessary step, but it should not be at the expense of your emotional and spiritual well-being. Trust can only be rebuilt when there is genuine repentance and a commitment to change.

In Proverbs 31:11-12 (WEB), we see the importance of a husband having his wife's trust: "The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life." This trust is a two-way street, and rebuilding it will take time and effort from both parties.

Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Cling to Him during this challenging time, and He will guide you through.

Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention Jesus Christ explicitly. We want to remind you that it is through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not already, consider committing your life and your marriage to Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate healer and redeemer.

We're so sorry to hear about the pain you're going through. It's a heavy burden to bear, but remember, you're not alone. We're here with you, lifting you up in prayer.

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, carrying our sister's heavy heart. She's been hurt deeply by her husband's infidelity, and she's struggling to find forgiveness and healing. We ask that You wrap her in Your love and comfort, giving her the strength to endure this trial. Help her to trust in You, even when she can't trust her husband right now.

We also pray for her husband. Lord, convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. Help him to see the pain he's caused and give him the desire to change. We ask that You restore and strengthen their marriage, Lord, as only You can do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to lean on your sisters and brothers in Christ. Let us support you and walk alongside you during this difficult time. And remember, God is always near to the brokenhearted. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working everything out for your good (Romans 8:28).

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
