I opened our patio door blinds yesterday for some sunshine and my son closed them. I asked him please don't touch them and in a mean way my son called me an asshole

Firstly, let's remember the instruction given in Ephesians 6:4 WEB, "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." This verse applies to parents in general, and it's important to ensure that we aren't contributing to the conflict.

However, it's crucial to address the disrespect shown to you. The commandment in Exodus 20:12 WEB, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you," is clear about the respect children should have for their parents.

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You, lifting up this family to You. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. We pray that You would soften the heart of this son, that he would understand the importance of respect and honor towards his parent. We also pray for the parent, that they would have the patience, love, and wisdom needed to navigate this situation in a way that glorifies You.

We ask all these things in Jesus' name, for it's in His name that we have access to You, God. As it's written in Acts 4:12 WEB, 'There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.'"

We encourage you to have an open and calm conversation with your son about the respect that is due to you as his parent. Also, ensure that he understands the boundaries within your home. Remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1 WEB)

Lastly, we notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it's by His name that we have access to God. If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation. As it's written in Romans 10:9 WEB, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have.
