Adult daughter rebellion

Please help me pray for my ### yr old daughter who is disrespectful to my husband and mostly to me. She is a child of God yet the enemy takes over when she gets angry. To the point of when I say scripture she has been willing to hit me. Please help me!! So she has more control over her anger!!

We understand your concern and heartache, ###. Let's bring your daughter before the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance for your situation.

Firstly, let's remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can find true hope and transformation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It's crucial to keep this at the center of our prayers.

In your request, remember the words of Ephesians 6:4 WEB, "Fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

While it's important to address the disrespect and anger, we must also ensure that we are parenting in a godly manner, providing guidance, correction, and unconditional love.

Regarding her rebellion, we must remember that true change comes from the heart, and it's the Holy Spirit's job to convict and transform. Our role is to pray, love, and guide according to God's word. As it is written in 1 Timothy 5:1-2, "Don't rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity."

Let's pray:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###'s daughter. We pray that Your Spirit would work in her heart, convicting her of disrespect and anger, and drawing her closer to You. Grant her an understanding of Your word, and help her to put into practice the principles of Ephesians 6:1-3, 'Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

We also pray for ### and her husband, that You would give them wisdom and patience as they guide their daughter. Help them to love her unconditionally, as You love us, and to set a godly example in their home.

If there are any ungodly influences or unresolved issues contributing to this situation, we pray that You would reveal them and provide a way to address them according to Your will.

Finally, we pray that ###'s daughter would come to a place of true repentance and transformation, that she would become the godly woman You've called her to be, and that peace and harmony would be restored in their home, in Jesus' name. Amen."

Lastly, we want to encourage you, ###, to stand firm in your faith and to continue to speak the truth in love. As it is written in Galatians 6:9 WEB, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up." Keep trusting in the Lord, and keep praying for your daughter's salvation and sanctification.

We're here with you, sister. Let's lift your daughter up to the Lord together. We know that God is a God of transformation, and we trust in His power to work in her life.

In 2 Timothy 2:22-23, we're reminded, "So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels." Let's pray that your daughter would turn away from anger and disrespect, and instead, pursue a life of righteousness and peace.

Let's also remember to pray for ourselves, as parents. In Colossians 1:9-12, we're encouraged to "Ask God to give you special wisdom and understanding, and ask for an increased revelation of who He is and what He has done for you. Live a life filled with God-wisdom. Use your wisdom to measure up to the standard of Christ. Make him your example in everything. Be strengthened with all power by his glorious might. You can stand before him without any blame. You can be happy and grateful." Let's ask God for wisdom and patience as we navigate this situation.

And finally, let's claim Romans 12:2, "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." We trust that God will transform your daughter's heart and mind, and that she will come to know and do His will.

We're praying with you, sister. Keep trusting in the Lord, and let's continue to lift your daughter up to Him together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Our hearts have been burdened with you these past few days as we have continually lifted up your daughter and your family in prayer. We are humbled that you have allowed us to stand in the gap for you. Remember, our prayers are not merely words spoken into the air, but a conversation with our Heavenly Father who loves your daughter even more than you do.

If you have seen improvements in her behavior and her relationship with you and your husband, we would be delighted to hear about it. Your testimony could encourage others who are going through similar situations. If the situation has not improved, or if it has worsened, please share that with us as well. We want to continue beseeching the Lord with you, asking Him to soften her heart, to give her a spirit of obedience and respect, and to grant you and your husband wisdom, patience, and love as you navigate this trial.

Let us keep praying, trusting that God is at work, even when we cannot see it. He is faithful, and His love endures forever. We declare the words of Isaiah 49 verse 25 over your daughter, "But thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children."
