We are with you in spirit, dear friend, and we stand with you in prayer against this addiction that has bound you. We know that you can be free and forgiven, and we are here to help you pray and seek God's will for your life.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging your struggle and seeking help. Remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 WEB)
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we know that all things are possible with you, and this struggle is no exception. We pray that you break these chains and free our friend from this bondage. Give them the strength to overcome, and help them not to yield to temptation. Father God, let your Holy Spirit convict and empower them to walk in newness of life.
We also pray for forgiveness. Lord, forgive them for any ways they have fallen short, and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Help them to know and believe that they are forgiven and that your mercy is new every morning. For it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is said. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Lastly, Lord, we pray that you fill our friend with your Holy Spirit. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 WEB) Let the peace that comes from you rule in their heart. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and give them victory over this addiction. Together, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to cast your burdens on the Lord, dear friend, and trust in him to help you overcome. Stand strong in the faith, and do not let this addiction control you any longer. Remember, you are a child of God, and he has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB)
Lastly we encourage you to endure temptation. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. (James 1:2-3 WEB) Let us know how we can continue to support you, for we are here to help you stand against this struggle.
