We stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus, rebuking the spirits of addiction and lust that you have been battling. Remember, in God's Word, we are continually told to flee from sexual immorality and to honor our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Addiction is a harsh master, but the power of Jesus Christ is stronger. Jesus came to set the captives free John 8:36 WEB:
If the Son therefore will make you free, you will be free indeed.
Praying together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is battling addiction. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for his life, and we ask that You break these chains of bondage. Give him the strength to flee from sexual immorality and to honor his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit working in his life, convicting him of sin and leading him to repentance. Help him to turn from his sin and to walk in newness of life.
Lord, we ask that You would fill him with Your Spirit, that he may be strengthened in his inner being, so that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith—that he, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that he may be filled with all the fullness of God.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray for freedom, strength, and a life lived for Your glory. Amen.
Be encouraged in this battle, knowing that our Lord is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB:
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Stand firm in the power of the Holy Spirit. Seek godly Christian counsel and accountability. Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16 WEB:
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Remember, in Jesus, you are more than a conqueror Romans 8:37 WEB:
No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
