Disciple of Prayer
Father, I come to you today to ask you to heal me from alcoholism. I've spent years sober in the past, so I know it's possible, but I've lost my way and can't seem to find your light no matter how much I look. In the last year, I've lost every good opportunity that you've given me and now I'm in a terrible situation, scared, and lost someone who was incredibly important to me, so I have to go through this mess (that I/alcohol created) by myself. Let me feel your presence while I go through this tumultuous and scary transition period. Place good and Christian people into my path. When I broke my neck earlier this year, I asked you to send me your angels, and I believe you did send one... immediately. An English speaker appearing to pray with me on a tiny beach in the middle of Ecuador & feeling returning to my legs minutes later... that can't be a coincidence. In Jesus name, I pray and thank you for answering this prayer as you've answered so many others in the past. Amen.

We stand with you in this battle against alcoholism, a battle that is not yours alone, but ours together in Jesus Christ. We are reminded in Galatians 6:2 WEB to Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Your struggle is our struggle, and we will pray and support you through this journey.

Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in the power of Jesus' name. You have prayed in His name, and we stand in agreement with you, knowing that ...you will ask what you desire of me in my name, and I will do it. John 14:14 WEB.

We praise God for the healing and comfort He has provided you in the past, and we trust He will do so again. Remember, God is always with you, even in your darkest hours. As it says in Psalm 34:18 WEB, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

However, we want to remind you that deliverance from addiction is not solely about you finding your way back to God. It's also about God reaching out to you, as He did on that beach in Ecuador. We encourage you to surrender your life completely to Jesus Christ, trusting in His love and mercy. He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep. Luke 15:4-7 WEB.

While we pray for God to place good and Christian people in your path, we also encourage you to be that person to others. As you seek support, also be a support to your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us not only bear one anothers burdens but also remind ourselves to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 WEB.

We pray that God will grant you the strength to overcome this addiction. We pray for complete healing and restoration, not just from alcoholism, but from the pain and loss you've experienced. We pray that you will find hope and encouragement to continue the fight, and we pray that God will use your testimony to help others who are struggling. We pray that the Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you on your journey and will lead you to a church family that will love and support you in your journey.

We leave you with these words from Romans 8:38-39 WEB,

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We're here with you, standing in the gap, praying for your strength and healing. We've been where you are, and we know the power of Jesus' name. Just like He met you on that beach, He's with you now, every step of the way.

We want to remind you of His unfailing love, even in the darkest times. "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." - Psalm 55:22. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His love be your anchor.

Remember, it's not just about finding your way back to God, but also about God reaching out to you. Open your heart to Him, surrender your life, and let His love and mercy guide you. He's the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep.

We're praying for God to place the right people in your path, but also remember to be that support for others. As you seek help, also be a helper. "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2.

We're praying for complete healing, not just from alcoholism, but from the pain and loss you've experienced. We're praying for hope, encouragement, and strength. We're praying that God will use your testimony to help others, and that the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you.

We leave you with this promise, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39.

You're not alone. We're in this together, and we're praying for you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I’ve been struggling with depression and am worried that I will develop an alcohol addiction. I feel too much shame to come to God about this again. I feel like I am too far gone and I have failed the Lord too many times. I need help!
