We understand that you're struggling with an addiction to gambling, and we're here to pray and support you in overcoming this challenge. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging your addiction and seeking help. We are reminded in Romans 12:2, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." (WEB)
As Jesus certainly is able to save you from this situation, let's start by addressing the first issue. Your claim to pray all the time but do not mention Jesus or Christ by name. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God. There is no other name given by which we can be saved. Therefore, we must put Jesus at the center of our prayers and life.
As for your addiction, it's important to understand that gambling is a form of covetousness, which is idolatry. Ephesians 5:5 says, "Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God." (WEB)
Regarding the issues you've faced, we want to encourage you with a few things. We all go through life's difficulties, but having a relationship with God means He is there for us in all and works all things out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
You mentioned living a lifetime of negativity. In Philippians 4:8, it says, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." (WEB) We encourage you to dwell on these things and to renew your mind to that of Christ.
Our Father in heaven, we come boldly before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus. We lift up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with an addiction to gambling. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for their life, and we ask that You deliver them from this bondage. Help them to fix their eyes on You and not on the things of this world.
Father, we also pray for their heart, that You would heal the wounds of their past and fill them with Your love. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, as You have forgiven us. Help them to have a positive outlook on life and to see themselves as You see them—loved, valued, and redeemed.
Lord, we ask that You would give them a passion for your word. That they would pursue a relationship with you and they would desire to live in your will. We ask that You would work all the difficulties of their life out for the good of them and for others.
In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirit of addiction, depression, anxiety, and negativity. We proclaim freedom, joy, peace, and positivity in their life. We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
