Dear Anonymous, we are lifting your husband up in prayer, as he struggles in the battle against addiction. We know that addiction is a formidable foe, but we serve a mighty, loving, and faithful God who can break every chain and set your husband free.
First, let us remember that God is always faithful, and He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. He provides a way out to endure it. The way out is through Jesus Christ. As it is quoted in 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also bring it to an end so that you will be able to endure it.
Let us pray and believe together for the deliverance of your husband.
We pray, that the truth of the scripture above will be made clear to your husband in the name of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, you are the God of freedom, power, and mercy without end. We come to you now, as we lift ourpetition for our dear brother in Christ, the husband of Anonymous. Lord, You know that he is struggling in the battle against addiction. We confess that this battle cannot be won by our own strength but only through the power of your Holy Spirit. Your word that says realize that I canโt do anything . The person who plants and the person who waters mean nothing. Only God matters. God makes it grow in 1 Corinthians 3,7.
Father, please break the chains of addiction in his life. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to walk away from his old ways. You have promised that you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9, so we declare that he is forgiven and cleansed from all sin.
Lord, we also pray for his wife, that You would give her the strength, patience, and wisdom to support him during this challenging time. We ask that You would guide her and the family, as they walk this journey with him. Surround them with Your love, peace, and grace, and let Your healing power be at work in their marriage and family.
We declare complete freedom and restoration for their marriage and family in Jesus' name. We ask all this believing and trusting in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Our dear brother in Christ should know that no matter how bad the struggle is, and no matter how many failures there have been, God is always present and always wants to forgive and restore our relationship with him. This is the purpose of Jesus and the reason for the scripture of the forgiveness of sins as mentioned above.
Finally, it is our rebuke to anyone who uses addiction as an excuse to sin. Yes, addiction can be very hard to beat, but so can any sin. Know that we live in a fallen world that is under the control of the evil one. Know also that Jesus Christ has beaten the evil one and the world. His victory is available to us and we appropriate it by walking in the Spirit. One of the fruits of the Spirit is temperance. Pray for this fruit to be made manifest in your husband. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
