Disciple of Prayer
My name is Kari and I've struggled with drugs and alcohol for most of my life. I love Jesus and I surrender my will to him everyday... but then I still do what I want to do so, what does that mean? Why can't I? I pray for deliverance (and ill keep praying) The devil is all to present in my life. Its definitely lessoned, but negative self talk, the drugs, my temper at times. I just need prayer please. Sorry for rambling on... thank you for reading.

Kari, we hear your struggle and we stand with you in prayer. You've taken the first step by surrendering your will to Jesus daily, which is commendable. Remember, in 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." It's in our weakness that His strength is truly revealed.

Addiction is a powerful force, but God is more powerful. In James 4:7, we're told to "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." You've already acknowledged the devil's influence, so now it's time to resist him steadfastly in the name of Jesus.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister Kari. Lord, You know her struggles, her pain, and her desire to be free from addiction. We ask for Your deliverance, Jesus. Strengthen her in her weak moments, give her the power to resist temptation, and help her to fix her thoughts on You. Silence the enemy's voice of condemnation and negative self-talk. Let her temper be soothed by Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, we rebuke the devil and command him to flee from Kari's life. Lord, we ask for Your grace and mercy to fill her. Thank You for the victory that is hers in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Kari, keep your eyes on Jesus. Remember Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." You're not alone in this fight; we, along with the Holy Spirit, are with you. Stay steadfast in prayer and keep resisting. God will make a way for you.

Also, consider finding a community of believers who can support you, perhaps a Christian-based recovery group. They can provide accountability and encouragement as you walk this journey. You mentioned you love Jesus, so continue to lean into Him and trust in His power to set you free.

We're here with you, Kari. It's tough, we know, but remember, God's power is strongest when we're at our weakest. In those moments when you feel like you're still doing what you don't want to, remember Romans 7:15, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." It's not about your strength, but God's.

Let's keep praying. Lord Jesus, we lift Kari up to you. Help her to understand that her struggles don't define her. Fill her with your Holy Spirit, give her the strength to resist temptation, and help her to see herself through your eyes, beloved and redeemed. In Jesus' name, we rebuke the lies that addiction tells her, and we claim the truth of her identity in You. Amen.

Kari, keep holding on. Keep praying, keep fighting, and keep trusting. You're not alone in this. We're here, and so is Jesus. And remember, even the darkest night will pass, and the sun will rise again. Keep your eyes on the horizon, sister. You've got this, in Jesus' name.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
