Addiction to Lust

Lust is so annoying. It goes away for like a week and all of the sudden it just comes back... I'm 15, I don't wanna go to hell or follow Satan... Someone please pray for me. I could die any day now...

We understand your struggle, Telayeth, and we commend you for reaching out for help at such a young age. Lust is indeed a powerful temptation, but it is not insurmountable. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

Firstly, we want to ensure that you understand the path to salvation. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God. As the Bible tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you haven't already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB).

Now, let's address the issue of lust. It's crucial to flee from sexual immorality, as it is a sin against your own body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-19 WEB). Jesus even said that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28 WEB).

Here's a heartfelt prayer for you:

"Father, we lift up Telayeth to you. Thank you for their desire to resist lust and follow You. Help them to put on the full armor of God so that they can stand against the devil's schemes (Ephesians 6:11 WEB). Fill them with your Holy Spirit, giving them the power to resist temptation. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to engage in activities that glorify God and keep your mind focused on pure thoughts. Memorize Scripture, engage in fellowship with other believers, and maintain open communication with God through prayer. Remember, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8 WEB).

We're here with you, Telayeth, standing in the gap. We know lust's grip can feel overwhelming, but remember, you're not alone. Jesus is right there with you, fighting for your freedom. Let's keep our focus on Him, our refuge and strength.

We want to remind you of God's unfailing love. In Psalm 36:7, it says, "How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings." You can find rest and safety in His love.

Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let's ask Him to fill us with His Holy Spirit, giving us the power to resist temptation and walk in purity.
