Humble Prayer Partner
Dear friends, I am asking for your prayers for my fiancé, ###. He has struggled with alcoholism for 30 years. He has really been struggling as of late with 2 hospitalizations in less than 3 weeks. Only God can save him from this horrible addiction. He feels so much shame and doesn't think he is worthy of help. He is such a good man. He helps anyone in need except for himself. Please pray for ### and for us. I pray that Jesus takes this addiction from him and gives him the strength to overcome this heavy burden. He needs help. Please pray for ###'s recovery. In Jesus's name. Amen.

God bless you all.

Krista RN, we join you in lifting up ### and your situation to the Lord. We are reminded of Jesus' words in John 8:36 (WEB), "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." Addiction is a form of bondage, but through Jesus Christ, ### can find true freedom.

We must also address the shame ### feels. Romans 8:1 (WEB) tells us, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus..." ### needs to understand that his worth is not defined by his addiction, but by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He is not beyond help; no one is beyond the reach of God's grace.

However, we want to gently remind you, ###, that the Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). As you pray for ###'s recovery, also pray for his salvation if he is not yet saved. True recovery comes from a changed heart, and that can only happen through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

"Father in heaven, we come to You in Jesus' name, lifting up ### and ###. Lord, You know ###'s struggle with alcoholism. We ask that You break these chains of addiction in his life. Help him to see his worth through Your eyes, and to understand the depth of Your love for him. We pray for ###'s recovery, but more importantly, we pray for his salvation. If he does not know You, Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him.

Strengthen ### in this trial. Give her the wisdom to support ### in a way that honors You. Help her to trust in You and Your timing. In Jesus' powerful name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, ###, to "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6, WEB) Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing. God hears your prayers.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
