Bawsellik, We stand with you in prayer and belief that God has the power to save you from addiction and legal issues. Firstly, it is important to remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God and be saved. The Bible is clear this is the only way to salvation. As described in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Furthermore, God desires for you to have life and have it more abundantly, But life involves more than material wealth and possessions as explained in Matthew 16:26 WEB "For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?" It is very possible that the addiction you are trying to overcome and the legal issues you are having are related to things that scripture speaks of and are against what it says to do. The Bible is clear that breaking the law is sinful as explained in Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and they who withstand will receive to themselves judgment." You do not list the legal issues but if they are from crimes then the scripture should be taken to heart. And, addiction can be caused by many different things, but regardless of the source scripture is clear that "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything." 1 Corinthians 6:12
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted. He will hear your prayer and begin to work in your life as you trust in Him. Do not assume that God will overlook immoral behavior that He specifically spoke against in the Bible. We want you to have your best possible life and believe that is what God wants for you. However, you must be open about your life and be prepared to let go of sinful behavior. Do not keep from us anything you feel that you need God's help with.
Just as Jesus came to set the captives free, He can break the chains of addiction in your life. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, for He cares for you. Seek Him with all your heart, and He will restore your life. As explained in Romans 10:13 WEB "For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" If you have not already asked Jesus Christ to take away your sin, and be your Lord and Savior then you can do that now. There is no magical prayer to do so. Simply acknowledge your sinful life to God, believe in Jesus Christ, and ask for the Lord's forgiveness through Jesus. This is the only way that the Bible teaches to attain everlasting life and restore communication with God the Father.
Our hearts go out to you in this challenging time. I pray this in the name above all names, Jesus Christ. The name by which every knee shall bow and tongue confess. We join our faith with yours and pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up Bawsellik who is struggling with addiction and legal issues. We believe you are the God who will forgive and heal all who reach out to you through your SON. Lord, we ask that you deliver Bawsellik from the bondage of addiction. Help him to be completely open about all the behavior that they would like to overcome.
Help all who read this post be reminded of Jesus' words in John 16:24 WEB "Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." Help us to reflect upon this scripture and apply it in our lives.
Father, we also pray for the legal issues that you are facing. We ask that you intervene and for Justice and Mercy to come. Help us think upon I John 3:4 WEB "Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness." and help us to ask for full forgivness and mercy from God and others.
We ask this in Jesus Christ's name.
Amen
