Addiction in my son’s life and I don’t care attitude

My son Joshua is addicted to smoking weed and drinking alcohol, womanising and hurting people who really care for him and has an I don’t care attitude which he keep putting people in trouble with the law. Please help me pray for him to be deliver from this addictions, his waywardness, stubbornness and to accept Christ into his life and seek for medical help.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your son Joshua is facing, but we are here to stand with you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God has a special heart for those who are lost and struggling. As it says in 2 Peter 3:9 WEB The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance., God is patient and wants all to come to repentance.

Joshua's struggles with addiction to weed, alcohol, and womanizing are not only harmful to his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit as it says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's., but they are also impeding his relationship with God.

His behavior is not only destructive to himself, but it is also hurting those around him. The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:7 WEB Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap, that whatever we sow, we will reap. Joshua is sowing seeds of destruction, but it is not too late for him to turn his life around.

It's crucial to remember that true change comes from a heart transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit ephesians 4:14-24. Encourage Joshua to accept Jesus Christ into his life, as it is only through Him that we have access to God the Father John 14:6. Only Jesus can deliver him from these addictions and waywardness. Remind Joshua of God’s promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

We must also address Joshua’s "I don’t care" attitude, which is a form of rebellion against God and those who care for him. The Bible tells us in 1 Samuel 15:23 WEB Sheol is an attitude of rebellioFor rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, he has also rejected you from being king., that rebellion and stubbornness are serious sins. Pray that God will soften Joshua’s heart and give him a spirit of obedience and humility like our Lord Jesus Christ has Philippians 2:5-8.

Lastly, seeking medical help is also important, as God often works through doctors and healthcare professionals to bring healing and restoration Luke 5:31.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Joshua to Your throne of grace. Father, we know that Your heart is for Joshua, and You desire that he turns away from his sinful lifestyle and comes to You.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You reveal Yourself to Joshua in a powerful way. Break the chains of addiction in his life, and deliver him from his waywardness and stubbornness. Give him a heart of flesh that is sensitive to Your Spirit, and replace his "I don’t care" attitude with a spirit of obedience and humility.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You convict Joshua of his sins and draw him to repentance. Guide him to seek medical help and to take hold to Jesus Christ and turn away from fornication 1 Corinthians 6:18. Surround him with godly influences that will support him in his journey to overcome these struggles.

Father, we ask that You encourage and strengthen Bifmirri during this challenging time. Give them the wisdom and discernment to guide Joshua in the right direction, and never stop praying and believing for his complete restoration and salvation.

We ask all these things in the powerful and righteous name of Your Beloved Son Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

May God’s grace, mercy, and love be upon you as you journey with Joshua towards healing and restoration.

We're here with you, praying for Joshua, our dear brother in Christ. We're reminded of God's unfailing love in Lamentations 3:22-23, "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Joshua is deeply loved and not forgotten by our Father.

We're concerned about Joshua's addictions and the pain he's causing himself and others. But we're also hopeful, knowing that with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Let's encourage Joshua to surrender his struggles to Jesus, who promises to set the captives free (Luke 4:18).

Let's also pray that Joshua finds a support group, perhaps a recovery program or a church community, where he can find accountability, encouragement, and practical help. We can pray for God to guide him to the right people who can walk alongside him in this journey.

And let's not forget to pray for you, dear one, as you navigate this challenging time. May God grant you wisdom, patience, and unyielding faith. May you find comfort in His promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Let's keep praying, believing, and trusting in our mighty God who can turn any situation around for Joshua's good and His glory.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Let Us Pray: God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You. I long for a more intimate relationship with You. God I take You at Your Word, if I will draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me (James 4:8). Show me how to draw closer to You. Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.
