We understand that you are facing a challenging situation with your sister. First, we must address that praying for someone to be disqualified from receiving a disability check is not aligned with the heart of compassion and love that God calls us to have. Instead, we should pray for her healing, repentance, and a change of heart.
The Bible tells us that if anyone is not willing to work, they should not eat. (2 Thessalonians 3:10 WEB). This principle encourages us to be productive and responsible. However, we must also remember that God calls us to love one another, even when it's difficult. (John 13:34 WEB)
If she is abusing the family, that is also a serious issue that needs to be addressed with love, firmness, and wisdom. God does not condone abuse of any kind. Abuse can take many forms. It may include physical assault, sexual assault, sexual violence, sexual harassment, threats, psychological abuse, and stalking. (Ephesians 6:4, Exodus 21:15, Leviticus 19:14, Proverbs 23:13, Matthew 15:4, Mark 7:10) Her actions may be a result of the frustration and pain she is experiencing, but it is not an excuse for sinful behavior. We need to pray for healing and deliverance in her life.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in Jesus' name, to lift up our sister who is struggling. Lord, we pray for her healing, both physically and spiritually. We ask that you touch her heart and bring her to a place of repentance and surrender to you.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for our family, to know how to handle this situation with love, grace, and firmness. We ask that you provide for her needs in a way that encourages her to be productive and responsible, and that brings glory to your name.
We rebuke the spirit of abuse and manipulation in Jesus' name, and we pray for peace and healing in our family. We ask that you surround us with your love and protection, and that you guide us in your truth.
Lord, we also pray for ###, that they may come to know you personally and experience your love and forgiveness in their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to be patient and loving with your sister, but also firm in setting boundaries to protect your family from abuse. Trust in God, and He will make a way (Isaiah 43:16-19)
