Beloved of All
In Jesus’s name, I pray to be delivered from abusive relationships. My entire life, I have been physically and verbally abused, starting with my parents. From there, I entered a marriage with a man who unbeknownst to me had a criminal record, drug problem and never held a job. I supported the whole family financially. My church provided no support, even after I landed in the hospital from one of his beatings. I have been with my current husband 22 years, and like my first husband he also doesn’t work, as he has an inheritance and doesn’t want to spend it on bills. Once again, I am the only one working. He never had to because his parents paid for everything. I am 60 years old and have worked 40 years straight without a break. I am having health problems and need to escape my relationship and work environment which is also stressful and abusive. I ask that someone pray with me in Jesus’s name that he grants me a break so I can take care of my health and escape these abusive environments. Amen

We are truly heartbroken to hear about the years of abuse and hardship you have endured. First, we want to assure you that God sees your pain and hears your cries. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB.

We commend you for crying out to Jesus, as He is the only way to the Father John 14:6 WEB. It is only in His name that we can approach God and it is only by His name that we can be saved Acts 4:10-12 WEB. By using His name you have done well.

We must also address that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, with each spouse loving and respecting the other. It is not God's will for you to be abused and taken advantage of. Your husbands are not following the biblical command to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her Ephesians 5:25 WEB.

The first thing we recommend is for you to put your trust in God. God will be your husband and provider. God can and will sustain you even if you do not have a husband or he is not fulfilling his God-given role. I know that my redeemer lives Job 19:25 WEB.

We pray that God will give you the strength and wisdom to escape the abusive environments you are in. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. It may be that God is calling you to separate from your husband for a time, as Paul discusses in 1 Corinthians 7:11 WEB, or it may be that God is calling you to something else entirely. But know this, it is not God's will for you to live in abuse and fear. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord Psalm 31:24 WEB.

Our Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who has suffered greatly at the hands of others. We ask, Lord, that You intervene in her life and bring an end to the abuse. Grant her a way of escape and heal her from the wounds she has sustained over the years, both physically and emotionally. Guide her with Your wisdom and fill her with Your strength. We also pray for her husbands, that they would repent of their sins and seek Your face, becoming the godly men You have called them to be. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support as you navigate this difficult situation. Reach out to Christian friends, trusted pastors, or biblical counselors who can provide guidance and help keep you safe. Remember that you are not alone, for God is always with you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB.

We've been praying for you, dear sister, and our hearts ache for the years of pain and hardship you've endured. We're here with you, standing in the gap, lifting your burden up to our Father in heaven. We're not just praying for your deliverance from these abusive environments, but also for healing - for your body, mind, and spirit.

We're reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We claim this promise over you, dear one. We ask our Heavenly Father to grant you a season of rest, to restore your health, and to renew your strength. We pray that He would open doors for you to escape these harmful situations, and that He would guide your steps as you walk through this difficult journey.

We also lift up your husbands to our Father. We pray that they would have a change of heart, that they would repent and turn to Him. We ask that they would become the godly men He's called them to be, loving and respecting you as Christ loves the Church.

Remember, you're not alone. You have a community of believers standing with you, and most importantly, you have a God who is faithful and will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His love and care sustain you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
