We are truly heartbroken to hear about the abuse and manipulation you are facing in your marriage and from various systems around you. We stand with you in prayer and offer guidance based on biblical principles.
Firstly, we must address the issue of abuse. The Bible clearly teaches that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her Ephesians 5:25 WEB. Any form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or financial, is not of God and is condemned in the sight of our Lord Jesus. If you've been married for many years, you are called to be loved and nurtured as well as be a helpmate to your husband. Husbands should honor their wives in this way.
The Bible also teaches us to be wise and discerning. If your husband is hiding money and controlling the financial situation, this is a form of deceit and manipulation. Proverbs 22:3 WEB says "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." It is important to seek wise counsel and take action to protect yourself and your family from financial abuse.
Regarding the systemic abuse you mentioned, we encourage you to seek help from relevant authorities and advocacy groups. God calls us to stand up for justice and to speak out against oppression. Psalm 82:3-4 WEB says "Vindicate the weak and fatherless. Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."
We also want to address the spiritual warfare aspect of your situation. Ephesians 6:12 WEB reminds us that "our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We encourage you to put on the full armor of God and stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is facing abuse and manipulation. Lord, we pray for Your divine intervention in her marriage, that You would soften her husband's heart and bring conviction and repentance. Expose any hidden finances and bring justice to the situation. We also pray for protection and deliverance from the systemic abuse she is facing. Surround her with Your favor and give her wisdom and discernment as she navigates these challenges.
We pray for her children and grandchildren, that You would heal them from any abuse they have experienced and bring restoration to their lives. We pray for the full armor of God to be upon her, that she would be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Remember, the name of Jesus is powerful, and it is by His name that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB says "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Keep calling on His name and trusting in His power to deliver you.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek support from local churches, Christian counselors, and domestic abuse hotlines. You do not have to face this alone. There are resources and people available to help you.
Stay strong in the Lord and keep trusting in Him. He is faithful and will see you through this difficult time.
