Absolute mayhem! Overloaded with work. All nurses in private hospitals experience this. Patient load 12 usually. Many discharges and admissions as well as coping with those still in beds. One discharge was dropped on us as the ambulance waited impatiently outside to collect patient - paperwork, pharmacy, and other related things needed to be done and at the same time the receptionist is standing with wheelchair to whiz them to ambulance. Nurses are not getting their breaks, 8 and 12 hour shifts.
Many of them are up and leaving the place because they are overwhelmed and feeling inadequate and depressed. 12 hour shifts mean they spend less shifts in the workplace to free them from this overload. Lord God, in Jesus Christ's Name, will You speak to the managers of all areas which affect the nurses' workloads and encourage them to make changes to ease the burdens on those who nurse the sick and frail. Help the nurses, and give them strategies which will enable them to pass through each shift knowing they have done the best they can and go home to their families with that knowledge. I am going to ask You to punish the managers and business persons who contribute to the overloading of work. Thank You for nurses, and thank You for listening. In Jesus Christ's Name amen
