Beloved of All
About five and a half years ago I was convicted of domestic violence in the state of Michigan, which is a misdemeanor. What I did was really stupid and I really regret it. I have a hearing tomorrow to get my record expunged, which means to remove the conviction from my record. I was feeling pretty confident about the situation until this past Thursday when I received a ticket for driving on an expired license (I know. My fault for forgetting to renew it.), which for some strange reason happens to be a misdemeanor according to Michigan law and not just a civil infraction like most traffic violations. I have not payed the ticket yet and plan to fight it, but I am worried that this recent change in events might have an adverse impact on my current expungement case because Michigan law states that a person cannot get their record expunged if they have more than one misdemeanor charge. Now, I am hoping that because this ticket is so new that it might not show up in the system yet which would really help my cause. I graduate from college in December, and having two misdemeanors on my record would really hurt me in terms of trying to find employment.I am requesting prayers for a positive decision in my favor tomorrow at the hearing. I put in a lot of time and effort in changing my life around and would be devastated if I could not get my record expunged. I ask for prayers that God will take everything into his hands and will show some compassion and mercy upon my situation. I am also praying that there is a chance that I can successfully appeal that expired license violation.Thank you and God bless!
