I agree with your words, that you are still human and get stressed out under extreme circumstances. I feel that way too, especially since those 'Negative circumstances" are so consistent.After all, we're not masochists.We have different temperaments and some "feel things " more than others.We're not ostriches, we can't just push things, or our feelings under the rug.I can relate to what you're saying.
