We are glad that you have come to repentance and have asked for forgiveness. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess them. Let's pray and seek God's will together.
Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who has humbly asked for your forgiveness. Lord, you know the depths of their heart and the things they have done in the evening. We ask that you forgive them for all the unrighteous things done or said as the Bible says in Colossians 3:8, But now you also put away all these: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
We also have a heartfelt prayer for you to fill them with your Holy Spirit and the desire to now do what is right. Help them to put away the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light going forward. As it says in Romans 13:12-14, The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light, as in the day; let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and don’t make provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
We are so thankful that we can come to you in the name of Jesus Christ and that you are willing to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Keep looking towards Jesus Christ. It is by his name and him crucified for our sins, that we are forgiven and can be reconciled to God. As it says in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
