We join you in your request for forgiveness, acknowledging that we all fall short of God's glory and are in need of His mercy. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us" 1 John 1:8-9 WEB. Every person has sinned and is in need of forgiveness as noted in Romans 3:23 WEB, "for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, confessing and acknowledging our sins, both known and unknown. We ask for Your forgiveness, not because we deserve it, but because You are a merciful and gracious God. We thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. It is only in the name of Jesus, as noted in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We receive this forgiveness by faith in His name. Thank you for the continual cleansing and renewal that You provide. Help us to walk in Your ways, to obey Your commandments, and to live lives that are pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, we pray in agreement. Amen.
Continue to walk in the knowledge of God's forgiveness, and strive to live a life that honors Him. Remember the words of Jesus in John 8:11 WEB, "She said, No one, Lord. Jesus said, Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more." As forgiven children of God, let us seek to be salt and light in this world, pointing others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If there is anything else you need, please let us know, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer.
If unmarried and in a relationship with anyone, especially if living with them, be sure to seek God's best for your life. If fornicating, this needs to stop. Fornication is a sin and must be addressed. Hebrews 13:4 WEB, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."
Confess the sin and ask God to take it away from your life and ask Him to help you to keep from this sin. Unmarried Christians should remain chaste until marriage. Search for a spouse not a partner for fornication. Either fornication with the opposite sex or homosexuality is immoral and a sin. See Leviticus 18:22 WEB, "You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable." Also see 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 WEB, "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."
Also, remember, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God" 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB.
