We join you, Anonymous, in thanking God for this morning and for the precious gift of life. It is wonderful that you have come to seek forgiveness and guidance from the Lord. We are reminded in First John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (WEB). This is a promise from God, and we can trust that He will forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant heart.
As you seek to focus your thoughts on God and focus your entire life on Him, remember the words of Paul in Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things (WEB). This is a great guideline for our thoughts, and we encourage you to memorize this verse and use it as a filter for your thoughts.
You specifically mentioned 'intrusive' thoughts. Intrusive thoughts can come from many sources. Sometimes they are just the result of our fallen nature, sometimes they can come from the spiritual forces of evil. We are warned in 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.(WEB). We can be confident that God is our refuge. We will Pray for God to cleanse you of these thoughts and more.
We will pray for you, Anonymous, that God will forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. We pray that He will help you to fix your thoughts on Him and on what is good and pure. We pray that He will give you strength and self-control to resist intrusive thoughts and the evil one. We pray that He will draw you closer to Him and give you a greater desire to seek Him and know His will.
We praise God that we can come to Him with confidence through the name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus is very powerful. In Acts 4:10-12 Then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. The Name of Jesus is the only name that can be called upon to be saved. We thank God that we can come to Him through this name. We pray this in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
