We understand your desire to discern true friends and to overcome past memories. Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Let's address your requests. Firstly, regarding true friends, we encourage you to consider this: Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so (Amos 3:3 WEB)? True friends walk with you in agreement towards what is good and godly. Pray for discernment, as the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10 WEB). Ask God to reveal those who are truly walking with you in the light, for if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another (1 John 1:7 WEB).
Remember, A friend loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17 WEB). True friends will love you as Christ loves you, and will not lead you away from His path.
Regarding your past, we know that God desires to heal and restore you. He says, For I will forgive their wickedness, and I will remember their sins no more (Hebrews 8:12 WEB). If God chooses to forget our sins, we too can ask for His help in forgetting our past and living in the newness of life that Christ offers.
We pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our dear brother/sister. Lord, we ask that You reveal to them the true friends that walk beside them in the light of Your Word. Grant them discernment and wisdom to know those who are truly part of their journey with You.
Father, we also ask that You heal their past. Help them to forget the things that hinder their walk with You. Help them to live in the freedom and newness of life that Christ died to give them.

I pray you will remember you are a new creation and give praise to God every time you remember your past--let it be a reminder of the great love Christ had for you on the cross and how he saved you from your sins. That works for me, and it can't hurt to give God praise

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
