We understand that you are seeking prayer for someone struggling with a bad attitude. Let us first remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, โI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.โ"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up A to Your throne of grace. We ask, Lord, that You work in their heart and mind, softening their spirit, and replacing any negativity with Your positive influence. Grant them the wisdom to see situations with a new perspective, one that aligns with Your will and Your word.
Father, fill A with Your grace to respond with kindness and patience, even in trying circumstances. Help them to understand the power of their words and actions, and guide them towards a life that reflects a better attitude, one that honors You.
Lord, we also ask for Your will to be done in A's life. If they are resistant to change, we pray that You would work in their heart to bring about a willingness to conform to Your image. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You desire for all to come to repentance and knowledge of the truth (2 Peter 3:9).
We pray that A would come to understand John 3:16 โFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.โ And Romans 10:9 โIf you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.โ Salvation is the most important issue for each person.
In Jesus' name, we pray for A's Salvation and new attitude. . Amen.
Remember, it is not our role to remove someone from our lives simply because they struggle with a bad attitude. Instead, we are called to love them as Christ loved us, even necessary warning or having to rebuke them.
In James 5:19-20 WEB it says "My brothers, if among you any is found to err from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins."
We should continue to pray for them, encouraging them and giving rebuke only if there is scriptural support and rebuke is needed. At the same time, we must be discerning and wise in our interactions, always seeking God's guidance. Instead of looking for removal we should be praying for a heart that is willing to change, as God is the one who grants repentance as outlined in Acts 5:31 โGod exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.โ
