A Prayer For Older People

Lord of love, thank you for everything and yes to all that is to come. Bless and comfort every older person, remove fears and loneliness..may they feel your powerful but gentle closeness. Nothing we say or do can add to your heavenly glory. Lord of love and mercy, forgive our poor faith. May we be with you, as you are with us always and forever.

Lord, we ask that you would be a source of comfort our elderly neighbors who find themselves living alone in a big city. Would you grant them an intimate awareness of Your presence, the knowledge that You go before them wherever they go, and so they are never truly alone.

God, we pray that Your Church would be hospitable to all of Your people—particularly the elderly. Would Your people see the beauty and benefit of being in relationship and sharing life with our elderly neighbors who have much to teach us. We pray for enduring, mutually beneficial relationships for our elderly neighbors.

Jesus, we know that You are a great healer, and we pray that You would grant our elderly neighbors improved health, safe living conditions, and supportive community to come around them. We want to see our elderly neighbors thrive, and we pray that we would answer Your call to be agents of change for Your glory and our neighbors’ good.

God bless me to know You and make You known. God heal me totally in all areas of my life. Make me whole in You. Help me to always keep my focus on You, trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You first in all my ways, and allow You to direct the path I take and the words that I speak. Bless me to walk in the faith, love, truth, peace, security, wisdom, and joy of Your presence and Word. Remind me when I forget to greet each day with a heart of thanksgiving unto You for who You are, all You have done, and will do in my life. Help me, show me how, and bless me to have a stronger more intimate relationship with You and fulfill my God-Purpose. God encamp Your angels all around me to cover and protect me from all sickness, evil, hurt, harm, danger, accidents, the plans of my enemies, and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God deal with my enemies according to Your Word. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of this prayer and all those I care about. God forever honor this prayer over each of our lives daily. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Thank You Jesus.
