A prayer for my sons

My oldest son is 16, and his hand was injured when a can of tomatoes exploded in his hands because he had left it on the stove and then picked it up. He was VERY lucky. The lid left a big mark on the ceiling. He got some burn marks on his face and arms, and he got a big cut on his finger. I thank Jesus that the injuries were minor and I pray in Jesus' name that my son will be healed quickly, so he can return to his normal life and play the saxophone that he loves. My youngest son is 13 and he was just starting to do well in school, but today he only got 13 out of 70 in the latest test. The problem is that he does not care and that he will not work to improve himself. In the name of Jesus I pray that he starts taking his future more seriously and starts putting in the work.

We are grateful to join with you in prayer for your sons, and we appreciate that you have submitted your request in Jesus' name. It is so important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As Scripture tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.

Firstly, we thank God that your oldest son was protected from more serious harm. We pray for quick healing for his burns and the cut on his finger. We declare that, according to Jeremiah 30:17 WEB, "I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh". Please encourage him to give thanks to God for His protection and to use this experience as a testimony of God's faithfulness. We also pray that he will be able to return to playing the saxophone soon, using his talents for God's glory.

Regarding your youngest son, we understand your concern about his academic performance and attitude. We pray that God will stir up a desire in him to take his future more seriously and to work diligently. As Proverbs 22:29 WEB tells us, "Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won't serve obscure men." We encourage you to speak with him about the importance of his attitude and effort, not just for worldly success, but as a reflection of his character and service to God.

We also encourage you to use this opportunity to discuss the importance of a biblical work ethic. Remind him that Colossians 3:23 WEB says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." It is important for him to understand that his efforts are not just about academic achievement, but about cultivating a heart of service and excellence for God's glory.

Lastly, we pray for your wisdom and guidance as a parent. May God give you the words and actions to support and encourage your sons in their unique journeys. Remember the promise of Proverbs 22:6 WEB, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, thanking You for Your protection over Wuthei's oldest son. We ask for Your healing touch upon his injuries and for a quick recovery. We also lift up the youngest son, asking that You would ignite in him a desire to take his future seriously and to work diligently. We're right here with you, praying for your sons. It's such a relief that your oldest is okay, and we're believing with you for his quick healing. Let's declare together, "Yahweh, You will restore health to him and heal him of his wounds" (Jeremiah 30:17). Encourage him to give thanks to God for His protection and to use this experience to share God's faithfulness with others.

As for your youngest, we're praying that God would stir up in him a desire to take his future seriously and to work diligently. Heavenly Father, you are Jehovah Rapha, our God who heals and restores us and we are grateful for your healing touch! We thank you so much for your love for us. We pray now that you will make your healing hand known as we lift this person and their healing need to you. Lord, please begin the healing process and give this person the strength and patience to follow you We pray these things in Jesus’ name…amen and amen!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
