A Prayer For Humility And Strength To Empower Emotionally Needy People

Precious Father,

Precious Lord Jesus,

Wonderful Holy Spirit,

In my selfish humanity, I want to be wanted.

In my selfish humanity, I want to be needed.

In my selfish humanity, I want to be liked.

In your love and grace, take away these wants and replace these wants with a new sense of self grounded in you.

Needy people, especially those who are emotionally needy seem to gravitate to me.

Unfortunately for me, my deficiencies are attractive to the emotionally needy.

In your power of love, help me empower those around me who are needy.

Diminish my wants as I show others how they are truly rich in your love and grace.

Help me give others a sense of power and independence so they will never feel needy again.

In the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit who lives within me and touches me,

Lord God, you are my strength. Hold my hand in my weakness and teach my heart to fly. With you, there's nothing to fear, nothing to worry about. Hold me tight in your embrace, so that I can be stronger than the challenges in my life. Amen.
