We are truly heartsick to hear about the struggles that many students at your school are facing, especially with issues as serious as depression and suicidal thoughts. It's crucial to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil that seek to destroy lives. For WEB tells us, 'For we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Firstly, we commend you for your heartfelt concern and for turning to prayer, which is the most powerful weapon we have in this battle. We stand with you in interceding for these teens, that they may encounter Jesus Christ and be saved from the darkness that surrounds them.
WEB tells us, 2 Timothy 1:10 '...our Savior, Jesus Christ, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News." WEB also tells us, John 10:10 "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, interceding on behalf of the students at Adelphelia's school. We pray for a hedge of protection around their lives, and we rebuke the spirit of depression and suicide that is plaguing their thoughts. We ask, Father, that You would reveal Yourself to them in a real and tangible way, that they may see the love and hope that is found in a relationship with You through Jesus Christ. We pray that those who are lukewarm in their faith would be set ablaze for You, and that they would truly repent and turn to You.
We know, this is a call only the Holy Spirit of God can move in their heart: "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" Romans 8:29. ""Because whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." Jesus is just the first of many brothers in the Roman church.
We declare that You have a purpose and a plan for each of these students, and we ask that You would help them to see it and embrace it and be conformed to the image of the Son. We pray for believers in the school to rise up and share the love of Christ with their classmates, and for hearts to be open and receptive to that love.
We claim victory and freedom in the name of Jesus Christ WEB tells us, John 8:36 "If therefore the Son will make you free, you will be free indeed." All of this we ask in Jesus's name.
We remind you as the body of Christ, each of these students is a unique individual loved by God. It's important to treat them with kindness, compassion, and respect, even if their beliefs or behaviors do not align with biblical principles. We encourage you to reach out to them in love, offering support and a listening ear, and if necessary, professional help. The church provides a loving community to help fellow believers.
Remember, our ultimate goal is to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel, and that happens when people encounter the love of Christ, WEB tells us, 1 Corinthians 13:1 "If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal".
We encourage you, Adelphelia, to be that light which WEB tells us, Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. "
