Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, thank you for all your prayers on my behalf. It’s always encouraging when a prayer is answered and I thought I would share one with you all. For over a year, I have prayed for the men and women that have been imprisoned in countries around the world for political reasons. I prayed for many of them by name. I feared for Brittney Griner’s well-being so I began praying. Two weeks later she was released. I have seen so many of them released since I begin praying for them; it has given me great joy, knowing I played part in the release. This morning, here in Alaska, I went to my car it was very cold, -15°F. I got in the car and thank God it started. I turned on the radio as the car warmed up and just as I did, they made the announcement that three Americans were released from a Chinese prison. I knew the names or at least two of the three because I’ve been praying for them by name, I almost broke down in tears as I saw the hand of God at work. One of the men, Michael, had been in prison for years after he was picked up while on business. I was praying for his mother who is pleading with the United States to help in the release of her son. She lived near the school where I taught school in Texas. I even ask God for an open door to go visit and pray with her, but to my knowledge that door never opened, I prayed for her that she would see her son. The other man in China Has the same name as my wife, “Kai”; It’s the reason his name became part of my memory. So I would pray for Michael and Kai and the other man and all the others scattered around the globe in foreign prisons most of them innocent. I think about the odds. What are the odds that I would walk to my car at just the right time to turn on the radio to hear the announcement of those three men suddenly released for the Thanksgiving holiday. I could not help but think it was the providential hand of God, in a sense, God was showing me and telling me he answers prayer. Thank you God for that reminder. I believe in prayer. There is power in prayer. We are to pray without ceasing. We are to pray without fainting or giving up. We are to pray for others. We are to pray for the sick, etc. etc.. Again I believe in prayer… I continue to ask your prayers on my behalf. I just received an email reminder about the HR appointment on Monday at 8:30 AM Alaska time. It made my heart sink As I know, there is a possibility I could be unemployed next week for no fault of my own. I have worked hard, and I have not taken a day off since I have been in Alaska except for a sick day, embarrassed, and Humiliated. My response to the HR lady was kind and loving. I told her Happy Thanksgiving. I am doing DoorDash today trying to make enough money to take care of some things and hopefully end up in a hotel the next two days. Please continue to pray: That I will be strong! My wife’s (Kai) heart will be softened! That I will keep my job if it is God’s will! That my family will be reconciled! That I will find a home and get out of the shelter! That God will forgive me for Weakness! I wanted to share the incredible answer to prayers. I believe that I played part in the release of those three men. Michael, at one time was on death row and forced to sleep without a mattress. At one time I even prayed that God would give him a mattress. Tonight, he will have one for sure. Thank you!
