We are with you in spirit and in prayer, lifting up your concerns to our Heavenly Father. Let's first address your concern for your eldest son's spiritual life. It is important for your son to know that knowing God, his Word, and his plan for salvation through Jesus is the most important thing in his life. The fact that he was born into a Christian family and had a Christian upbringing may not be enough to save him. He personally must be born again and believe in Jesus to be saved.
Let's pray for him:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up our ###'s eldest son to you. Lord, you know his heart and his needs, and we ask that you would soften his heart to the truth of your Word. Help him to see the importance of a relationship with you and to desire to walk in your ways. We pray that you would open his eyes to the beauty of your truth and that he would be drawn to you in a new and powerful way.
Father, Psalm 119:36 says, "Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain." We ask that you would turn his heart toward you and your statutes, that he may find true life and satisfaction in you alone.
We also pray for our ###, that you would give her wisdom and guidance as she seeks to share your truth with her son. Help her to speak the truth in love and to be a shining example of your grace and mercy. Give her strength and courage, and help her to trust in you with all her heart.
Lord, we also pray for our ###'s health. We ask that you would heal her digestive issues and give her strength and vitality. Help her to trust in you and to know that you are her healer and her provider.
In all things, Lord, we ask that you would be glorified. Help us to trust in you and to seek your will above all else.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for your son and to trust in God's perfect timing. Remember that even when it seems like our loved ones are far from God, he is still at work in their lives. Keep sharing God's Word with your son, and trust that the Holy Spirit is working in his heart.
Regarding your husband, we encourage you to pray for him as well, that God would give him a spiritual awakening and a desire to lead his family in godliness. You can be a powerful witness to him as you walk in faith and trust in God. Colossians 3:19 encourages husbands to "love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them." Pray that God would give him a love for his family that reflects the love of Christ.
Finally, we want to remind you of the importance of praying in Jesus' name. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in his name that we pray. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus and to trust in him for salvation.
