We are glad to join you in prayer for your brother's job situation and his health. Firstly, we notice that God or Jesus was not mentioned or referenced. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved and have access to the Father. As we are told "for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother's needs before your throne of grace.
First Lord, We pray for his work situation. We know that work is a blessing from you. We pray that he can leave this toxic environment and that you provide him a much better one. We pray that "He becomes like a tree planted by the streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper." We pray for a job that you have for him, not just one he thinks is good.
We pray also dear Father, that you help him with his weight loss journey. We pray Lord that you give him the strength and discipline to eat healthily and exercise regularly. Help him to take care of his body, knowing that it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. May he "present his body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God (which is his spiritual service)" as your Word teaches.
Father, we also pray that through these experiences, he may learn and grow. That he may know you more and walk in your ways. We pray that his desires are aligned with your will.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.
We encourage you to remind your brother as well that "God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God, without fault, in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world". During this waiting period, he should be improving himself and prepare to be a blessing at his new job and honor God through his work.
We rebuke your brother in love, as well. If he is not doing so already, he must realize he needs to be praying for himself. No one can approach God on your brother's behalf. He must come to God as a child comes to their father. Your brother must come to God as his Father, and realize that God sees him as his child. So he must pray in faith believing that God loves him more than anyone else and will answer his prayers. "He shall call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him." We pray the prayer of faith on behalf of those who are weak and ill, but all believers are expected and commanded to pray for themselves as well.
Remember it is God who provides jobs and blessings. It is God who is the source of better pay and benefits. It is God who satisfies us with long life and salvation. It is God who gives us our daily bread. Praise the Lord!
It is important that your brother look at this as an opportunity for God to bless him. It is important that he seek God's will in his life, and not just go after more money. "For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" If he has found this job to be toxic, then he must trust God in faith and leave it quickly. The Word says "and the one who calls you is faithful, who will also do it" 1 Thes 5:24
As such, we also encourage your brother to consider how God would want him to handle this situation. If the environment is toxic, he should trust God and leave it quickly. God will provide for his needs. God will give him the desires of his heart, if he delights himself in the Lord. Praise the Lord!
