We are truly saddened to hear about the difficulties you are facing in your marriage, Plareorath. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual submission, as seen in Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB:
"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
Verbal abuse, emotional neglect, and financial abuse are not part of God's plan for marriage. These behaviors are condemned in scripture, as seen in Colossians 3:19 WEB:
"Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them."
We strongly rebuke these behaviors and encourage your husband to seek godly counsel and repentance. We also pray for you, Plareorath, that God would grant you strength, wisdom, and a spirit of love and forgiveness as you navigate this challenging situation.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can find true healing and restoration. As Acts 4:12 WEB reminds us:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Plareorath and her husband to You. Lord, You see the pain, the abuse, and the neglect that has been taking place in this marriage. We ask, Father, that You would intervene, that You would bring conviction, repentance, and a spirit of love and kindness to her husband. We pray for healing, Lord, both physically and emotionally, for Plareorath. We ask that You would give her the strength to respond in a godly way, even in the face of such trial.
Father, we also pray for their marriage. We ask that You would bring restoration, that You would mend the broken pieces and bring them back together in a union that honors and glorifies You. We pray against any pretense, Lord, and ask that You would bring truth and authenticity to their relationship.
Lord, we also lift up Plareorath's in-laws. We pray that You would soften their hearts, that You would bring kindness, sweetness, and love to their interactions with her.
Finally, Father, we pray for Plareorath's walk with You. We ask that You would draw her closer to You during this time, that You would bring her to a place of true forgiveness, healing, and restoration.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Plareorath, we encourage you to continue to pray and seek God's will for your marriage. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you. Stay strong in your faith and trust in Him.
