We are deeply concerned by the content of your prayer request. Firstly, it is crucial to understand that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to love and forgive, not to wish harm on others. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you," (WEB). We must remind you that it is never right to wish for someone's demise, including the man's ex-wife. Instead, we should pray for her well-being and salvation.
Furthermore, the practices you mentioned—rituals involving food, pictures, hair, and dark spells—are not compatible with the Christian faith. The Bible warns us against engaging in sorcery, divination, and witchcraft in acts 19:19, "Many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. They counted their price, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver." (WEB). We strongly rebuke these practices and urge you both to repent and turn away from them.
Moreover, the use of peyote, a hallucinogenic drug, is also not in line with biblical principles. The Bible teaches us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (WEB). We should treat our bodies with respect and not engage in substance abuse.
Let us pray for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this man and his girlfriend to you, asking for your forgiveness and mercy. Lord, we pray that you would convict their hearts and help them turn away from their sinful practices. Help them to understand the severity of their actions and the harm they cause to others and themselves. Lord, we also pray for the ex-wife, that you would protect her, bless her, and draw her closer to you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We strongly encourage both of you to seek God's forgiveness, repent from your actions, and pursue a life that honors God and His Word. If you are not familiar with the salvation message of Jesus Christ, we urge you to learn more about it and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
