Thank you, Vera, for bringing your requests to us. We will pray together for your brothers Austin and Ferdinand, and we appreciate your gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let's hold fast to the promises of God, as written in Philippians 4:6, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
Have confidence in knowing that in 1 Timothy 5:8 we are told "But if anyone doesn't provide for their own, and especially their own household, they have denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.". In Psalm 127:1, our duty is clear ... it's also leavened with the assurance that the Lord provides in Deuteronomy 28:8 "Yahweh will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to; and he will bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.".
Let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Vera's brothers, Austin and Ferdinand.
For Austin, we pray that You would open the doors to a new, good job in Port Harcourt. Guide his steps and prepare the hearts of the decision-makers, that they may recognize the skills and qualities Austin possesses.
For Ferdinand, we ask that You would secure his position in his workplace in Abuja. We pray for Mr Ferdinand to be a diligent hard worker as Colossians 3:23-24 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.".
In all these things, we pray that Austin and Ferdinand would trust in You and seek Your will. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for answering our prayers. We pray this all in Jesus' name.
Vera, we encourage you o remind your brothers of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and
he will make your paths straight.".
Encourage them to be diligent in their work, to work for God not Man and in all things to seek their reward in Christ. We are reminded that earthly prosperity is much less significant than spiritual prosperity as laid out in 1 Timothy 4:8, "for the exercise of godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.".
