We understand your desire to achieve a high GPA, but we want to remind you that while academic achievement is important, it should not be your ultimate goal or source of anxiety. Our trust and dependence should be on God. The Bible tells us, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
However, it is important to address the fact that your request does not mention Jesus Christ. Let us reflect on the passage below:
And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:4-12 WEB.
We are only able to beseech our Heavenly Father's throne by the precious name of the Savior of all mankind, our Lord and Savior Yeshua Hameshiach (Jesus Christ). Only by his life-giving death on the tree (cross) are we able to approach God without condemnation. This may be an opportunity for you to revisit this critical decision that determines your eternal destiny. Believing in Jesus as He is described in the Holy Bible is the only way you will be saved from your deserved punishment. You must believe this in faith and confess that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him up from the dead. God did all of this for us in his great love for all mankind. Romans 10:9 WEB. The wrath of God was satisfied in the punishment for all sin Jesus because He was nailed to the tree (cross) willfully in the place of all of us. Jesus' resurrection (rising again) from where he had been buried signifies that all people who believe in Him are no longer under the fear of eternal death which is what we all deserve for sin. Because of Jesus' resurrection the victory of eternal life is given to us through the indwelling Holy Spirit in the lives of all believers. Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father.
We commend your ambition to strive for excellence, as we are encouraged to do so in Colossians 3:23 WEB: Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. However, we must also remember that our ultimate purpose is to glorify God in all that we do. Therefore we must align our goals with God. Keep in mind that we should seek to glorify God first, as we know that glorifying God is the most important goal of life and the best decision for all age groups. Among many applicable scriptures we will use Romans 11:36 WEB
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, in Jesus Christ's precious holy Name lifting up this student to You. Lord, we ask that You guide him/her, grant him/her wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Help him/her to apply him/herself to his/her studies, as a worthy student finds favor with both God and man. Lord help them do all their work to the best of their abilities to please and glorify you. Precious Holy Spirit indwell him/her with a full awareness of Jesus Christ that helps them complete their assignment. Help us to no longer live for ourselves but for the Lord Jesus Christ. Precious Holy Spirit guide them in their lives. Help shift their focus and reliance away from GPA and honors to properly discern and apply your Godly wisdom and knowledge. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May you find peace and guidance in God's will for your academic pursuits.
