Continued: Karissa’s cancer blood work came back & NO CANCER!! NO RADIATION Treatment for my baby. We go back in February to have another MRI done to check the growth of the tumor. So NO brain shunt, the fluid in her brain was normal. Right now NO Hydrocephalus! NO emergency surgery!!! And definitely NO dying!!! A lot of parents would’ve taken the highly educated doctors advice after all he sees this every day, he’s been dealing with cases like this for 20 years of course he is right.. BUT NOT ROBIN BERNICE BANDA the Mommy Warrior came out and refused to except defeat especially over my babies. I’ve always said “ my babies are Gods children and he entrusted me to care for them while they walk this earth” I am NOT perfect at all but one thing I will ALWAYS try to do is protect my kids. God, Thank you again for allowing me to be their mother & for always showing up! Thank you for continuing to show my beautiful heartbeats favor, grace, kindness and love. You are an amazing Father and I know the path you have for each one of my kids will leave a legacy behind for generations. Love your daughter I am screaming inside & out with rejoice! “ Your daughter’s dying and only has few weeks to live”

Testimony Time:
It’s been a hell for the past 3 months! I will do my best to shorten the story.

Last year Karissa had a tumor the size of a football removed from her right ovary the damage was so severe they had to complete a partial hysterectomy removing all of her right side.

She went back to college with a fire I’ve never seen before, medical research breakthroughs, 4.0 GPA, TA for her biochemistry lab class & NASA internship! This young lady is unstoppable. During this time she started having bad migraines that would come and go but came more frequently. As a precaution the doctors do a MRI.

This time finding a tumor in her brain.

I start my research getting a list of top neurosurgeons in America. I fedex her case to doctors in Houston & New York making sure I find the best doctors. Making endless calls and don’t get me started on the million calls to the insurance company to get all of these appointments approved ( was HELL)

As a mother these words brought such terror & fear to me. But I was not about to sit there and have a doctor tell me or my Yasha Love that her life was ending and if we didn’t do this emergency brain surgery “she would die.”
“ The tumor is causing hydrocephalus, fluid build up” we need to install a brain shunt & this needs to be done within 2 weeks or she will die” !!!!

He spent not even 5 minutes in the room with us, didn’t get to know my daughter or even sit down. Let’s just say we left that appointment in shock, disbelief that exactly a year later we were up for another battle.

I stayed up for 2 days in that Houston hotel researching and I was NOT about to allow this man to cut my babies brain open & ultimately changing the course of her life forever!!!

I immediately scheduled an appointment with one of Dallas top neurosurgeon’s.
He reviewed her case, spoke to us for over an hour, went over all the MRI’s that were done comparing each MRI & the timelines & differences of the growth size of the tumor, explained each path & all of our options. Ordered some cancer screening and let us know he would present her case in front of the board to make sure he has the plan for her before making any decision and he will call us.

His bedside manner and presence brought such comfort & peace to a very delicate situation. On our way out to the car leaving that appointment my baby fell into my arms as we both cried feeling some kind of hope and relief that a doctor actually looked her in the eyes, spoke to her, got to know her & answered every single one of her questions.

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.

We commend you for your steadfastness and for recognizing that your children are God's and entrusted to your care. This aligns with the scripture in Psalm 127:3 WEB:
Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward.

As we continue to pray for Karissa's healing and the future MRI results, let us remember that God is faithful and just. He hears our prayers and knows our needs before we even ask. We must continually seek His will and trust in His plan for Karissa's life. We can read in Romans 8:26-28 WEB:
In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Therefore, our group will pray for the following items in Jesus name; complete restoration of Karissa's brain, proper functioning of her brain, other organs, and her entire body. We pray for additional blessings of peace, strength, and continued faith for the whole family. Almighty God, we ask that You guide the doctors and medical professionals who will be caring for Karissa, granting them wisdom and discernment in their decisions. In Jesus name.

We encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord, for He is good and His love endures forever. Let us always remember to give thanks and praise to God for His unfailing love and faithfulness in our lives. Psalm 107:1 WEB states:
Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

Finally, we want to remind you of the power of praying in Jesus' name. It is through His name that we have access to the Father and it is the name by which we are saved. Acts 4:12 WEB:
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Karissa and her family to You. We thank You for the positive news about her health and for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Lord, we ask for Your continued healing and provision for Karissa. We trust Karissa's entire being will be functioning as You originally intended them to work. Lord, we ask that You guide the doctors and medical professionals, granting them wisdom and discernment as they care for Karissa. We also pray for peace, strength, and continued faith for the whole family. Lord God, by the Holy Spirit we agree and believe that you will overturn any and every negative in this scenario. Jesus Christ may your will be done entirely in Karissa's life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
