The more I discover, the vast possibilities ahead yawn even wider before me.

For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord — who is the Spirit — makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image (2 Co 3:17-18).

Mid-process.

Lessons still muddy and sweaty.

This is where we are.

Turns out adults don't know everything.

In fact, I'm learning how much I don't know. The more I discover, the vast possibilities ahead yawn even wider before me.

I have fought it, denied it, but now, there's nothing to do but embrace it.

Fall deep into the holy presence of Jesus and let Him whisper His promises all over my cringing flesh.

You have them, too.

Places that are desert dry, parched, and gasping for water.

We know like never before that, without God's touch, our hearts will die...

This pressing necessity to change, to force growth, to heal ourselves hangs a noose around our neck. It taunts us because our need and inability to save ourselves leaves us in a frantic frenzy because our fate lies in our hands. Or so we assume.

Until we remember.

This is God's work — God's salvation working in us day by day. We can and must seek, we must pray for rain and reach our hands toward God.

But He provides the rain.

He brings the breath.

He creates growth, not us.

Salvation, restoration, and life are gifts we can never earn. But, my oh my, the delight of experiencing God bringing that fresh air to our desperate lungs.

It is His work.

The audacity of God, the creator of the universe, to invest in such fragile, mortal beings, the mystery of salvation.

What a breathtaking mystery!

The night is dark but I am not forsaken
For by my side, the Saviour He will stay
I labour on in weakness and rejoicing
For in my need, His power is displayed...
(From the song, "Yet Not I, But I through Christ in Me" — see YouTube video below.

Yes, we can worship through the tension between weakness and rejoicing. We can sing praise while the lessons are still mid-process.

Worship with me, here in the muddy trenches of motherhood...

Perhaps this worship is extra powerful, this reaching in faith towards heaven, past our needs, to the God who cannot fail.

Yes! Yet not I, but through Christ, in me!

More mysterious than anything in the world is Jesus. He came from heaven, King of kings and Lord of lords. Saving our souls and paving the way to see Jsus face to face in glory. Honor and praise be to Him now and forever more. Amen
