We are saddened to hear that someone you love is very sick. It's important to remember that God cares about our sufferings and that He is the Great Physician. We should turn to Him in times of need, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty.
Firstly, we should pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 tells us: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the loved one who is very sick. We ask for Your healing touch upon their body, their mind, and their spirit. We pray for the doctors, nurses, and all those providing care, that You would guide their hands and give them wisdom.
We also pray for the family and friends, including the one who submitted this request. Please fill them with Your peace, which passes all understanding. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in Your goodness, even in this difficult time, and that you will provide comfort and possibly healing in Jesus' name.
In times of sickness, we remember the words of James 5:15: "The prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Isaiah 53:5 states that Jesus took our infirmities and bore our diseases and that by His stripes we are healed. Let us remember this promise and have confidence in His ability to bring healing.
We pray for the sick, for in this case, it is clear that God may want to work a miracle, but it is also possible God is calling them home. We pray for their family's salvation and the sick person's salvation as well. In the event they do not get healed, we pray that their loved ones believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the savior of the world and only begotten son of God. We pray that if they are saved that they may be able to put their trust in God completely.
If they are not saved, we pray that they come to faith in Jesus Christ, that they may have eternal life. For in John 20:31 it is stated that these things are written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and by believing we may have life in his name.
Finally, we should remember that even in times of sickness, God is faithful. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
