Glorious Sabbath Day People of God:
Though this message is customized for ###, it can certainly pertain to any city in the aftermath of disaster.
God never promised that because you do good, you would not suffer, quite the opposite. Job was righteous in Godโs sight, yet God chose to test him through suffering. Howbeit, in our suffering, we must let no one entice us into foolish and unnecessary things, such as pagan rituals. It doesn't matter what colors you display. In fact God ponders why a city would choose to do that; likening such behavior to prostitution and adultery:
Jeremiah 4:30 (CSB)
And you devastated one, what are you doing that you dress yourself in scarlet, that you adorn yourself with gold jewelry, that you enlarge your eyes with paint? You beautify yourself for nothing. Your lovers reject you; they want to take your life.
God doesn't look upon the outer cup, but rather the inner cup. The purpose of a nation or city's suffering, is that when she endures (remains steadfast in the midst of devastation), like Job, her daughters (cities) will be restored to even greater than before; far more beautiful than all others. Therefore . . .
Romans 13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
Not colors, but "CHARACTER." Jesus's character was the mindset of NEVERTHELESS, which is, despite the current situation, we must choose submission and obedience to the will of the Father.
In the meantime, and in between time, just as God did for our forefathers . . .
Deuteronomy 6:10-11[a] He will give you large and beautiful cities that you didnโt build, houses filled with every good thing that you didnโt supply, wells that you didnโt dig, and vineyards and olive groves that you didnโt plant.
As touching the election of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, by the power and authority of the Holy Ghost, I pray in Jesus's name. Amen.
Don't forget to remember where it all came from in the first place. Keep trusting Him.
Thank you for the bus/train fare.
