Christ being our mediator is a profound truth that underscores our relationship with God. It means that Jesus Christ stands between us and God, bridging the gap caused by sin. As the Bible says, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). This tells us that Jesus, being both God and man, is the only way through which we can approach God.
When we pray, it is through Jesus that our prayers reach God. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Unfortunately, your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is essential that we pray in Jesus name because there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 (WEB) says “There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!” So in your future prayers, it is important to ask in Jesus name.
Jesus' role as mediator also means that He intercedes for us, presenting our needs and petitions to God. As it says in Hebrews 7:25 (WEB), "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." This is a tremendous comfort, knowing that Jesus is constantly pleading our case before the Father.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be our mediator. We confess that we need Him to stand between us and You, Lord, for we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Thank You, Jesus, for bridging that gap and making a way for us to come to the Father.
Lord, we pray for the one who submitted this request. We pray that You would reveal more of Jesus' role as mediator to them. Help them to understand the depth of Your love and the lengths You went to restore our relationship with You. We pray that they would know You more intimately and trust in Jesus' name for all things.
We also pray for their faith. We pray that if they need salvation, that you would make that clear to them and allow them to understand that there is no other name but Jesus by whom we can be saved. We pray that if this is the case that they would put their faith in Jesus.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to study more about Jesus' role as mediator and what that means for your life. Dive into the Scriptures and ask God to reveal more of Himself to you. Remember, it is through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray. If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, now is a great time to make that decision. Simply believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved. Then, you can truly experience the power of Jesus as your mediator.
