People plot evil against others due to a variety of reasons, but at the root, it's a matter of the heart turned away from God. The Bible tells us that the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9 WEB). When people allow feelings like jealousy, anger, or bitterness to control them, they may be compelled to plot evil. Moreover, in a world that is currently under the sway of the wicked one (Ephesians 2:2, 1 John 5:19), such behaviors are to be expected.
Let us remember that we are not ignorant of our adversary the devil's devices (2 Corinthians 2:11 WEB). By aligning with God, we are in direct opposition to satanic forces that work to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). It is by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and we are saved. Remember, people without Christ are blinded by the devil and have no hope.
We must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11 WEB), understanding that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in high places. We must pray for discernment, protection, and for the ability to forgive and love our enemies, as Jesus commanded (Matthew 5:44 WEB).
It is also important to examine our own hearts and ensure that we are not harboring any evil intentions or unforgiveness. We should be a light in this world, reflecting the love and goodness of God.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that you are the source of all goodness and love. We pray for those who plot evil against others, that you would convict their hearts and draw them to yourself. Help us to forgive those who have wronged us, and to love our enemies as you have commanded.
We ask for your protection and guidance, that you would help us to be a light in this world. Give us discernment to recognize the devices of the enemy, and the strength to stand against them. Help us to always align with your will.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
