We understand your heartfelt desire for forgiveness. It's wonderful that you're seeking reconciliation with God. First, let's remember what the Bible tells us about repentance and forgiveness. In 1 John 1:9 (WEB), it's written, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

However, we noticed that your prayer does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it's through Jesus that we have access to God's forgiveness. As it's written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" It's only by believing in Jesus and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior that you can be saved and receive forgiveness from God.

Let's pray together: "Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We confess that we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Specifically, we ask for forgiveness for leaving RI three years earlier. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose again to give us new life. Please cleanse us from all unrighteousness and help us to walk in Your ways. This we ask in Jesus' precious name. Amen."

We've been reminded of 2 Corinthians 7:10 (WEB), "For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death." We see your grief, and we believe it's leading you to true repentance and forgiveness.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness.
