We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap as you humble yourself before the Lord. It's a beautiful thing to see someone seeking forgiveness, just as the prodigal son did in Luke 15. We're reminded of his words, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son" (Luke 15:21, WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Father, we lift up our friend who comes to You with a contrite heart. Lord, You are a God who loves mercy and delights in showing compassion (Micah 7:18). We ask that You would pour out Your mercy on them, forgiving their sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Help them to feel the weight of their sin lifted off, and the joy of Your salvation restored.
Strengthen them, Lord, to walk in Your ways, to live a life pleasing to You. Help them to grow in holiness, resisting temptations, and living a life that honors You. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Just as the father in the parable welcomed his son back with open arms, so too does our Heavenly Father welcome you back, dear friend. Keep walking in the light, knowing that your sins are forgiven, and you are a child of God. If there's anything specific you're struggling with, please share, so we can pray more targeted prayers for you. We're here for you, and we love you. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
