Prayer for the Gift of Forgiveness
God, I have been trying to forgive myself, but I still carry shame. Today, I receive that gift of forgiveness You hold out to me. Thank you for doing a healing work inside of me that I cannot do on my own. Thank you for a new day, a new chapter, and a new beginning. In Jesus' name Amen.Prayer for Forgiveness from God
Lord, against you I have sinned alone. I know that every time I choose sin over you, I revert to the ways of my old self before I knew you. Your Word reminds us in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We claim this promise today, knowing that you are a loving and forgiving God.
We ask that you would grant our anonymous friend a deep sense of remorse and repentance for their actions. Help them to learn from this experience and to grow in wisdom and self-control. May they seek reconciliation with anyone they may have hurt or offended.
Lord, we pray for your grace to cover our anonymous friend, washing away any guilt or shame they may be carrying. Fill their heart with your peace and assurance of forgiveness. Help them to walk in the freedom that comes from knowing they are forgiven and loved by you.
We also pray for strength and guidance to resist temptation in the future. May our anonymous friend be filled with your Holy Spirit, enabling them to live a life that honors and pleases you.
