We understand your desire for companionship and commend you for turning to our Lord Jesus Christ in your search for a soulmate. We believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives, including our relationships. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), "‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says Yahweh, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.’"
However, we must remember that God's best for us is to seek Him first and trust in His timing. As Matthew 6:33 (WEB) tells us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." As you pray for a spouse, we encourage you to also pray for patience, wisdom, and discernment, so that you may recognize the woman God has prepared for you.
We also want to remind you of the importance of marrying someone who shares your faith in Jesus Christ. As 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) warns us, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" A godly marriage is a union between a man and a woman who both love and serve the Lord.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this brother in Christ to You, asking that You guide him in his search for a wife. Help him to trust in Your timing and to seek Your will above all else. Prepare his heart for the woman You have chosen for him, and give him the wisdom to recognize her when she comes into his life. We pray that You will bless him with a godly spouse who will love and serve You alongside him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
