We join you, Tovuor, in lifting up your grandson before the throne of grace, seeking God's favor and mercy upon his life. We are reminded of God's compassion and willingness to forgive from 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Firstly, we must ensure that your grandson has confessed his sins and turned to God, through Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God and seek His forgiveness. As it says in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that your grandson knows and believes with all his heart as in Romans 10:9 that ,Jesus is Lord and that Jesus was resurrected from the dead so he will be saved, forgiven, cleansed, and redeemed.
Concerning forgiveness and turning from our sins we are also assured in Ezekiel 18:21 "But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die." Therefore we should pray for your grandson to turn from all sins that he has committed and follow after God's will.
We pray for God's will to be done in your grandson's life and for God's forgiveness and mercy to be poured out upon him. We ask, Father, that You would guide the court proceedings tomorrow, and that You would grant those who make decisions wisdom and discernment. We do not always know the background or reasons for people's actions, but God have perfect understanding. Perhaps your grandson was wrongly accused or perhaps he has changed and can be restored to the right path. But, we do know that God, You can turn any situation around for good, and You are able to "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28).
We must also acknowledge and discuss the nature of your grandson's court appearance, understanding that there are consequences for our actions, and God's forgiveness does not necessarily mean that man's law will have requirements. But if your grandson knew God and repented and turned from his sins he will receive God's forgiveness.
Therefore we also pray that you and your family will show love and kindness to your grandson. But if necessary you need to show tough love. Praise God that he has been given the opportunity to go to court instead of some other consequence that may not be life giving. Pray that your Christian family will accept your grandson as well as the consequences of the court.
Finally. We give thanks to You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We trust in Your promise from Philippians 4:6-7 Lord "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We pray that, down the road, your grandson's testimony may be used to help others who may find themselves in similar situations, that they may also turn to God in repentance for the forgiveness of sins. In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of pride, rebellion, or unforgiveness that may be hindering your grandson's walk with God. Thanking God in advance that Jesus came not into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
