1) Update on Mom: She is still recovering from the stroke she had a while back. She has improved a little bit, but she still has long ways to go. She's still paralyzed on her left side, and is not able to walk. She has an appointment to meet with a physical therapist on Friday, June 1st. Hopefully, this will help until she can go back to inpatient rehab. We already applied her to Medicaid. SSI/Medicaid is the only way my Mother will be able to go back to inpatient rehab. She received a call from the disability office today. We are hoping and praying that we will get her Medicaided soon, so that she can get the professional help she needs. Please continue to be in prayer. 2) I was in a horrible car accident back in September. I have come a very long way from the accident, but I still have a 5% recovery left to go. I'm still attending outpatient rehab, plus I have to have surgery on my left eye, due to double vision. They have taken me off of medicaid, and I won't be able to have surgery without insurance. It is a blessing knowing that I am still able to attend rehab. I am doing whatever I can to appeal my medicaid, so that I could have the eye surgery done. Please be in prayer. 3) Two of my good friends are dealing with storms in their lives right now. One of these friends are living in Pennsylvania. She has been battling with some health issues. She has been in a lot of pain, even screaming in agony for being in pain. The hospital system there is not very good. They've only prescribed her to pain medicine once, because they have strong opinions against pain medicine. My other friend is dealing with a lot, because she found out recently that she was abused as a child by her father. Please be in prayer for them both. 4) Two of my good friends whom I went to community college with recently came out as homosexuals. Before that, both friends were married to what seemed to be wonderful men. They also have beautiful children together and everything. And now, they have divorced their husbands and are living with their girlfriends. Please be in prayer for these two. 5) Please say a prayer for my Grandmother. My Grandmother is very selfish and narcissistic. As much as I hate mentioning it, it's true. She has caused a lot of problems in the family in order to be in control of things. She said some pretty nasty things about my Grandfather, who passed away in August 2017. She has tried to poison me & my brothers against my Mom by feeding us lies about her, and it worked with one of my brothers for a short time. She's also spread rumors about some of our really good friends who goes to our church. We had to cut her out of our lives a couple months ago, because of all the strife she has put us through. I have forgiven her, but I don't want to be around hers and dealing with manipulative tactics getting the best of me and my family. I want to walk in grace and forgiveness, & found I couldn't do so while being confronted by such toxicity. My Grandmother is also not a Christian. She enjoys living in sin, and does not want to change her ways. She knows we are a good Christian family, and she does not like it. That is probably the reason she tried to divide us in the first place. Please pray that God will send the right people in her life to share the gospel with her, and encourage her to turn from her own ways and to follow Jesus. 6) Future Husband- I hope and pray that God will send the right man in my life soon. 7) One of my really good friends have cancer. We met around Christmas time in 2017. He is a wonderful piano player/musician. He was also my accompaniment when I performed "Mary, Did You Know?" in December. He has been through chemo therapy so many times. He posted on Facebook last month saying his condition is 98% stable. This is great news; however, there are a couple of spots in the lung lining that are greatly noticeable. Please continue to pray for him as he continues his recovery. 8) I have a part time job cleaning someone's house. The woman who hired me is really sweet and godly. She also has some personal issues in her family. Please be in prayer for them. 9) My Aunt has recently got a job in Dollar General. So far, she is doing swell. She said that once she becomes manager, she will hire one of my brothers. One of us really needs a job. I'm still in college; therefore, I can only do so much. Plus, my Mom won't be able to return to work for at least a while, due to her recovering from a stroke. Please be in prayer. 10) My older brother is still in prison, and has been for a few years now. He was sentenced to 7 years for something minor, yet the DA wanted to crucify and make an example of him as if he comitted the most horrendous crime on earth. This is completely uncalled for. Thankfully, the prison he is staying at is quite peaceful. God is definitely with my brother during this time. We visit him every other Saturday. We are currently doing whatever we can to make sure he doesn't get made an example of by the time he is released from prison. Please be in prayer. 11) My Grandfather passed away last summer. He was a great man, and we miss him so. He also had a quanset hut he was not able to finish. Therefore, me, my Mom, and the rest of the family agreed to finish the quanset hut for him. One of our cousins is a Carpenter. Him & his crew of workers are currently working on building the house for us. People from our church (including my Sunday School teacher) also pitched and made donations to go towards the house. We are so thankful for these people, and they have done a great job so far. It will possibly be a month or so before the first floor of the hut is finished. We are currently living in Grandfather's old trailer until we can move into the quanset hut. Please be in prayer. 12) I have been entering the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes since January of 2014. Right now, the sweepstakes entrance is $1,000,000, plus $1,000 a week for life. The winner will be announced on June 29th. I am also entering for the $500 a week for life sweepstakes on the Publisher's Clearing House Website. I am not only entering this sweepstakes for myself. I am also entering it for my family, and to make a difference in the world by helping others in need. I hope and pray that if it is God's will for me to win one of these sweepstakes, he will use the entrees of PCH to make it happen. Please pray for good results. 13) Forgive me if I sound frustrated, but we had to fire Kare-In-Homes Sitter Services recently, because we had sitters that haven't been showing up when we needed them. I had to miss so much therapy, because of that situation. We even had to take our Mom with us, which was not fair to her, because of her condition. My Aunt was FINALLY able a sitter to sit with my Mom while my brother & I are out of the city for my outpatient rehab, only to discover yesterday that she QUIT after only the FIRST WEEK. According to my Aunt, it is because it is TOO MUCH OF A TASK for her. She even said that Mother doesn't even TRY to help herself, which is COMPLETE BOLOGNA! My Mom tries getting around the best way She can. She has made so much progress since her stroke in January, but She's still not able to walk. She's tried to walk many times, but kept falling. And for this WOMAN to say She's not even trying, I'm sorry. But, WHY does she think we HIRED her to sit with my Mom in the first place? Why on Earth would she need a sitter if she WAS able to walk? It has gotten to the point where I'm beginning to lose faith in hiring any more sitters. I honestly don't know what we're going to do. I may end up having to drive myself to outpatient rehab without my brother, because LORD KNOWS my Mom needs someone to sit with her while I am at therapy. I am working on that right now. Thankfully, my cousin from Florida offered to take me to Rehab this coming up week while my brother sits with my Mom. We still have until then & next week before we decide on a plan. Please be in prayer!
